I couldn't agree more! Vancouver always becomes soooo busy in the summer, that it is sometimes impossible to enjoy your own city. We tried to visit Whytecliff Park on a hot, sunny day this summer to enjoy the beautiful Marine Protected Area. We ended up getting turned away at the entrance because the park was so full!
Luckily, we were able to take a drive through all the beautiful West Vancouver mansions and head to Lighthouse Park instead. Much less crowded, and we were able to explore some private tide pools! It does suck that you aren't able to explore your own city sometimes; but tourists are so important to our economy that I'll have to let it slide!
